Solar panel installation in Melbourne

Every roof is different. We design each system around your roof orientation, shading, household usage and budget, then explain how many panels make sense, which inverter suits you and what the system should produce across a Melbourne year.

We use panels and inverters from the Clean Energy Council approved lists, handle the connection application with your electricity distributor and set up monitoring so you can see exactly what your system is doing.

  • On-site assessment and custom system design
  • Approved panels and inverters with long manufacturer warranties
  • Network approval, STC paperwork and certificate of electrical safety
  • Monitoring app set up on your phone
  • Battery-ready designs so you can add storage later

Owner-occupiers may be eligible for a Solar Victoria rebate of up to $1,400. Check your eligibility.

Home battery and hybrid inverter installed in a garage
Home batteries

Solar battery installation

A home battery stores the solar you don't use during the day so you can run your home on it at night instead of buying power from the grid. Compatible systems can also keep essential circuits running during a blackout.

We install batteries with new solar systems or add them to the solar you already have, sizing the battery to your evening usage rather than overselling capacity. Eligible batteries attract the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount, which has tapered for larger systems since 1 May 2026.

  • Batteries for new and existing solar systems
  • Hybrid inverters and backup for essential circuits
  • Virtual power plant (VPP) ready systems
  • Off-grid and hybrid systems for rural properties

See if your battery qualifies for the federal discount with our rebate checker.

Heat pump hot water system installed beside a house
Hot water

Heat pump & solar hot water

Heating water accounts for a large share of household energy use. A heat pump or solar hot water system can run on your own solar power, cutting running costs and emissions.

From 1 March 2027, Victorian homes replacing a gas hot water system at the end of its life will need to switch to an efficient electric option such as a heat pump. Eligible owner-occupiers can receive a Solar Victoria hot water rebate of up to $1,000, or up to $1,400 for eligible locally made products.

  • Heat pump and solar hot water systems
  • Replacement of old gas and electric storage units
  • Timers set to heat water with your daytime solar
  • Installed by appropriately licensed trades

Questions

Solar, battery & hot water FAQs

Straight answers to the questions we hear most. Can't see yours? Ask our team.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?

In most cases, yes. It depends on your existing inverter, switchboard and available space. To receive the federal battery discount, the inverter the battery connects to must be able to join a virtual power plant (VPP). We check your system and recommend the simplest option, which may be an AC-coupled battery or a new hybrid inverter.

Will a battery keep my power on during a blackout?

Only if the system is designed for backup. Many batteries can power selected essential circuits (such as lights, the fridge and internet) during an outage, but this needs a compatible inverter and extra wiring. We explain exactly what will and won't run before you decide.

What size solar system do I need?

It depends on how much electricity you use, when you use it, your roof space and your plans for a battery, EV or heat pump. We look at your recent power bills and size the system to your usage, rather than simply fitting the largest system your roof can take.

Should I choose a heat pump or solar hot water?

Both are efficient. Heat pumps are compact, work in all weather and can run on your solar panels with a timer; solar hot water uses roof collectors to heat water directly. We compare running costs, roof space and rebates for your home before recommending one.
